1. I'm just going to this party with a few friends – everyone’s going… Nothing bad is gonna happen I’ll be fine = We’re going to a rave and we’re all going to get smashed, I’ve done this a million times under your nose before and you haven’t clocked on so far, so why should you now?

2. He’s just a friend, nothing’s going on… Honest = I'm having casual sex with a guy and I can’t bring him home because he has a tattoo on his forehead and you’ll go mad.

3. Get out of my room I'm working = Get out of my room I'm watching porn and it is so weird with you here.

4. No = Yes.

5. Yes = No.

6. This weed isn’t mine I'm just holding it for a friend because their parents would go sooo mad. They’re not mine I swear = Shit... At least you didn't find the acid though.

7. I don’t feel well = I'm hungover.

8. Yeah, school’s going well = They’ve suspended me but you don’t know that because I tore up the letter and I’ve been spending my weekdays in the park drinking with some friends.

9. I love you = I want something from you.

10. I've got a proper job I work in a bar = I'm a stripper.

Ya that's right! Even parents know this but sometimes they are left with no choice but to shut their eyes. The teenagers just oust their parents from their 'private' lives for being old hags who belong to the past. When they land themselves in some kind of problem, they return to look for the support of the same old hags. LoL

Wow! Thank the Good Lord this isn't true at my house. I was told once by a "friend" that my kids are to dependant on me, because they called me to ask permission to do ANYTHING. I replied "My kids don't make a move without me knowing about it". And it's true! Am I strict? Yes! Do I have good kids? Yes! Have they been in trouble with the law? No! Are they moral, and helpful individuals? Yes!

I can only hope this article was written as humor.

Stay ignorant (of course you're not) whilst staying there for them. They'll come to you when they need support: Financial, emotional, practical or other - And DON'T become a facebook friend.
